YG GIRL GROUP, WHO HAS THE MOST POWERFUL DEBUT? BLACKPINK VS 2NE1.

Over the last few days, we’ve been mesmerized by BLACKPINK debut. With the amazing vocals, rap, dance, and visuals in BLACKPINK's debut MVs for "Whistle" and "BOOMBAYAH". These girls have been proving them self that they are really worth waiting for. Ever since 2012, YG has been teasing the fans about these girls and they sure don't disappoint with high-quality music.

Both single was written and produced by the almighty talented Teddy, specifically the more ballad and mysterious, chilling “Whistle" was produced by Teddy as well as Future Bounce and written by Teddy and Bekuh Boom. And for the up tempo trance "BOOMBAYAH" was similarly produced by Teddy and written by Teddy and Bekuh Boom. These songs have been doing very well both in Korea and overseas.

Check out both MVs below! You will love KPOP afterwards, believe me.

As for you guys who don’t know, BLACKPINK is the latest group addition in YG Entertainment and have been drawing keen attention from even before their debut, as they are the first rookie girl group of YG in seven years since 2NE1. Now that they have finally made an official debut, BLACKPINK is drawing even bigger attention, being recognized as the “perfect girl group” who has outstanding talent, beauty, and charms. Without further ado, let’s check out their very first debut stage in the video below!

So since we’ve seen BLACKPINK’s debut performance ever, I can say that we learn some essential points already, first of all BLACKPINK is the first girl group to debut after 2NE1 and second is that both of them are produced by Teddy. So I couldn’t help but to compare the queens and the princess from YG, who has the most powerful debut after all? Fyi, this isn’t about fan war towards both groups and I will forever be a YG Stan.

When 2NE1 was debuting, the impact was more than powerful. Notably CL, she was packed with some rare talent and and very impressive stage charisma! But the other member wasn’t really lack of anything. BOM’s voice was just incredibly beautiful and unique, even one of a kind I guess (BOM stan’s here :D). DARA has this charm that no one ever gonna be able to resist and MINZY has the amazing presence that’s gonna make you move like Jagger. I can say that each of them were so different and stand out while still shining together as a group. Remember 2009? Girls Generation’s Gee was everywhere, literally EVERYWHERE. But 2NE1 came out and offers the fans something different, something new in bad ass way.  And their live performance took us to another level of what YG could do.

This is one of 2NE1 oldest performance when they debuted with FIRE on Music Bank!

But with BLACKPINK, the case is slightly different. Both of their debut song requires a loooot of dance energy and because of this I do think that they used a lot of back sound. So yes, they might sound lypsinc-ing it. To be honest I’m not even sure whether they singing it live or not but the overall performance was great, the dance was beyond unexpected especially in BOOMBAYAH, when Jennie jump and the other members catch her, it was over whelming and very shocking. Considering that these girls were trained in YG, it shows how much the company has grown throughout these years.  And their fashion style? Love it.  One small thing I kind of disappointed was they didn't actually sing it.

Here’s what I can say, debut wise. Although BLACKPINK was full of energy and slay their first performance but I personally think 2NE1 killed it, their stage presence and singing ability for a rookie, no doubt totally the WINNER!! Then again, congratulation for the finally debuting BLACKPINK~ I believe we will be able to see these princesses rocking the stage lives, someday. Maybe next week? On Sketchbook? :D
